Extracted Content: The profound changes to American higher education in recent weeks will pale in comparison to what will occur if the Covid-19 pandemic makes it impossible for colleges to resume campus-based education in the fall. Yet there has been little public discussion about what that might mean for students, their families, and colleges. That needs to change. Colleges need to lead an open and honest dialogue with their communities to plan for the possibility that it will not yet be safe by late August or early September for students to once again crowd dormitories and classrooms.
